Confidence starts with the expertise to handle even the most challenging projects, and the commitment to see each one through to completion with excellence and enthusiasm. Trust is earned through hard work and dedication to the customer – proved by a substantial number of repeat customers. Integrity demands that we never cut corners, and that we are always transparent with our clients. This philosophy enables us to maintain solid relationships with existing clients, even as we grow and take on new challenges. These relationships have allowed us to grow into a national, multi-division firm providing quality and excellence in construction.

History

The year was 1978. Jimmy Carter was President, unemployment and inflation were on the rise, minimum wage was $2.65 per hour, a gallon of gas averaged $.63, and The Great Blizzard of 1978 had just ripped through the Ohio Valley.

Joseph Kelley Sr. and his wife, Joy, began operating Kelley Construction from a single desk. They started a company whose niche was performing heavy industrial work for some of the most recognized names in the country, such as Ford, General Electric, Rohm & Haas, Phillip Morris and many more. As a small company working for larger ones, there was only one way to compete: Exceed client expectations through quality, technical expertise and commitment to service excellence.

Seeing an opportunity and employing those same values, the team at Kelley Construction began seeking commercial work. The response was overwhelming. As word of our reliability spread we captured the attention of new, national clients and continued to win repeat business from our existing clients.

As a third generation, family-owned business, Kelley Construction has grown to employ more than 150 skilled individuals conducting work in the commercial, food service, healthcare, industrial and petroleum and energy fields. As we've grown, focus has remained true to the foundation upon which it was built and has maintained the philosophy of partnering with clients on each project. The open and transparent manner with which we approach every project helps to ensure that we are all on the same team, sharing a common goal.
