NTS beginning work on second Shelby Campus building

NTS Corp. has tapped Louisville’s Kelley Construction Inc. to build the second office building on the University of Louisville’s Shelby Campus, and work is scheduled to be fully under way in the next two weeks.

Lewis Border, NTS’s vice president of operations, said construction of 700 North Hurstbourne, a $20 million project, should be finished in summer 2014.

The four-story, 125,000-square-foot building will have the same dimensions as 600 North Hurstbourne, which was completed on the Shelby Campus in early 2012. It was built by Messer Construction Co., a Cincinnati-based company that maintains a Louisville office.

“We did tweak the floor plan slightly so it wouldn’t be a complete carbon copy,” Borders said of the coming building.

KlingStubbins, a Philadelphia-based architectural firm, designed both Shelby Campus properties.

Construction loan financing for 700 North Hurstbourne has been secured with Republic Bank & Trust Co.
