Park Community Credit Union Unveils New Branch with Interactive Teller Machines

It appears to be a traditional branch when one walks into Park Community Credit Union. The new Forest Springs branch, near La Grange Road and Interstate 265 in Louisville’s East End, has a front desk and offices behind glass windows to the right.

But to the left, four machines occupy a space that normally would host tellers.

It’s the “evolution of the teller line,” said Jim Spradlin, president and CEO of Park Community, describing the four ATM-looking computers called interactive teller machines. An ITM is a video teller service that gives users the feel of personal service with the efficiency of an ATM. A person operates the ITM from a remote location and engages with the user via live video.
