Hometown Firms Contribute to City’s Building Boom
Architect Bob Haffermann loves Louisville and says the city has an overwhelming wealth of talented and inspired home-grown businesses in the construction and building industry.
“I’m very bullish on our building industry here in Louisville,” said Haffermann, principal in charge at K. Norman Berry Associates Architects PLLC, who credits the strength of the University of Kentucky architecture department for turning out excellent local architects.
K. Norman Berry Associates is the architectal firm that designed and created blue-prints for the $39.5 million, 142,000-square-foot Kindred Healthcare Inc. expansion project for South Fourth Street and Broadway downtown. Hafferman offered kudos to Kindred for hiring many local firms throughout the project rather than looking at national firms for a majority of the work. “I think Kindred is a great company, and I love what they’re doing.”
