This project was a 27,000 sq.ft. addition to the existing 54,000 sq.ft. Cottonwood Springs Behavioral Health Hospital in Olathe, KS. Key components of the expansion included the construction of a new retaining wall, a secure outdoor courtyard, and an updated parking lot to accommodate increased traffic and enhance site functionality. Additionally, a private drive adjacent to the property was converted into a public roadway, improving access to the facility. The interior scope of work provided 18 new patient rooms, adding a total of 36 beds to the hospital. As part of the project’s commitment to safety and accessibility, a below-grade tornado shelter was constructed, designed to meet ADA standards and provide secure refuge in severe weather conditions.
